ADVENTURE RAFTING

These trips combine aspects of culture, nature, education and most of all,
adventure and excitement. What a unique experience rafting on high-class
rivers, camping in the rainforest and making contact with river inhabitants.

Some would say, a trip not to be equaled and the experience of a lifetime. Often
unreachable by road and 5 times as long to walk, rafting through the Moskitia
allows our guests the opportunity to be amazed by the outstandingnatural
beauty of the region and experience the adrenaline rush associated with this
adventure and nature activity.

RIO SICO SAN ESTEBAN TO PUENTE LA BALSA: 4 DAYS RAFTING CLASS II AND III

Nature Experience, 3 nights outdoors with campfire & tent.

Day 1: we leave early in the morning towards San Esteban in Olancho, the
“wild east” of Honduras. There are heaps of men in boots and jeans, a cowboy
hat on their head, riding horses. Our transport takes approx. 5 hours.
We strap our gear in the raft and float another 3 hours downriver. Easy class II rapids.
We set up our camp, the first from 3 nights under the stars of the northern hemisphere.

Day 2 and 3 : rafting, breathtaking nature. We float trough a beautiful gorge, the
rock colours change every curve. Really long, fun class III rapids. 2nd night
outdoors at the campfire by the river.

Day 4 : after campfire-coffee and breakfast it is still ½ day of rafting to get to
the Bridge of La Balsa: The put-out. Our adventure vehicle picks us up, back
at the coast we gonna have a delicious seafood meal in a Garifuna Village.

Our trip ends back in La Ceiba. or enjoy your free night in our beautiful Jungle Lodge at the Cangrejal River in Pico Bonito National Park.

What To Bring: boots or tennis, for raft & kayak also river sandals, long pants, shorts,
fleece or sweater for the night, light raincoat, torch, insect repellent, sunblock, sunhat
or cap, towel. Got a drybag or a light sleeping bag?: bring it! Try not to bring too much !!!

RIO SICO, GUALACO TO SAN ESTEBAN 5 DAYS RAFTING CLASS II, III AND IV

Nature Experience, 4 nights outdoors.

Day 1: we leave early in the morning towards Gualaco in Olancho, the “wild east”
of Honduras: there are heaps of men in boots and jeans,a Cowboy hat on their head,
riding their horse.our ride takes approx.6 hrs. We prepare our equipment for the next
day and decide where to sleep. Tonight you got the choice:either you spend the
night in a very bacic “hospedaje” or in a tent.

Day 2: after a typical breakfast we strap our gear in the raft, the first good rapids
coming up right away.beautiful nature,exellent rapids,all in wild scenery.in the afternoon,
we set up our camp,a night under the stars of the northern hemisphere.

Day 3 an 4: rafting, overwhelming nature. Really long, fun, class III and IV rapids.
Night outdoors, at the campfire by the river.

Day 5: after campfire-coffee and breakfast it is still ½ day of rafting to get to
San Esteban bridge, our put-out. Our adventure vehicle picks us up and carries
us to San Esteban to have a delicious cowboy meal in that ranger town.

RIO SICO -RAFTING INTO THE MOSKITIA 6 DAYS RAFTING CLASS II AND III.

La Moskitia Experience
Day 1: we leave early in the morning towards Olancho, the “wild east” of Honduras:
there are heaps of men in boots and jeans,a Cowboy hat on their head, riding their horse.
Our ride takes approx.4 hrs. Coming to La Balsa bridge we pump the raft up and
strap the gear into it. 2 hrs. of rafting and we set up camp for the first time:
collecting firewood, cooking on open fire, taking a shower in the river.

Day 2 & 3: Whitewaterrafting all day long… long flat parts that give us time to enjoy the
beautiful scenery and good class II and III rapids. Around 4 p.m. we look out for a
sand bank to spend the night excellent camp spots.

Day 4: After a hearty breakfast it is still ½ a day of rafting to get to the Miskito village
of Sico. The rafts get deflated and go on a ox cart to our hotel (very basic). The typical
rice, beans and tortilla for dinner.

Day 5: All the equipment including ourselves go on a motorized dugout canoe (pipante).
We drive towards the coast, after aprox. 6 hrs we get to Palacios. There is time to take
a tour around this coastal Miskito metropole. This night our hotel is quite a bit less basic.

Day 6: The propeller plane leaves 8 a.m., just after breakfast. Our trip ends back in La Ceiba.

RIO SICO -RAFTING & MULES IN THE MOSKITIA 6 DAYS RAFTING CLASS II AND III.

Adventurous mule ride, Sandy and muddy 4x4. A all around experience!

Day 1: we leave early in the morning towards Olancho, the “wild east” of Honduras:

their horse. Our ride takes approx.4 hrs. Coming to La Balsa bridge we pump the raft
up and strap the gear into it. 2 hrs. of rafting and we set up camp for the first time:

Day 4: After a hearty breakfast it is still ½ a day of rafting to get to a village of 4 huts
with a giant dugout canoe. We stay with the family at nightand enjoy a real Miskito
dinner: Rice, beans and tortillas. It is a different live in Miskito villages.

Day 5: After a real Miskito breakfast our mules wait for us already. It is a long day on
the animals, crossing a mountain range to get to empty caribbean beaches, riding the
mules along it at sunset. The garifuna village of Punta De Piedra will give us shelter for the night.

Day 6: Early morning we jump on a 4x4. What follows is off road of its best: first we ride
along the beach, then turning inlands. Often we hafe to jump off the trucks, push and pull. Depending on the weather conditions it takes us 4 to 7 hrs. Reaching Las Jicoteas (the turtles)
we swap into a OMEGA adventure vehicle that brings us back to La Ceiba, where this trip ends.

RIOS HIGUITO AND JICATUYO 7 DAYS RAFTING CLASS II, III AND IV

Nature Experience, 6 nights outdoors. Check! this trip combines perfect with a visit to
Copan Ruins or the Cigar manufactury in Santa Rosa de Copan!

Day 1: Early in the morning we pick you up in La Ceiba, Tela or San Pedro Sula - we
are on our way to Gracias. The ride takes the whole day through beautiful scenery
and changing landscape. In the tobacco and coffee area of Gracias we stay
over night in a basic hotel.

Day 2: today we do a daytrip on the beautiful Rio Higuito (class III and IV rapids).
Real fun whitewater, great day! After the trip we drive to the hot springs near Gracias,
with several pools and different temperatures. We set up our tents, eat in the restaurant by
the hot springs. Tonight we will not sit in a bar, but lay in a hot pool, having a cold beer.

Day 3: After breakfast we drive to yesterdays put-out, strap our gear in the raft, the first
good rapids coming up right away. Beautiful nature, exellent rapids, all in wild scenery.
In the afternoon we set up our tents, and light a campfire. Our first night under the stars
of the northern hemisphere.

Day 4 to 6: Rafting, overwhelming nature. Really long, fun, class II, III and IV rapids.
The river changes its face every few curves: We come through black, white, red -boulder
areas, through wide, open landscapes and through the deepest gorge in Honduras.
Nights outdoors, at the campfire by the river.

Day 7: after campfire-coffee and breakfast it is still ½ day of rafting to get to the bridge
of San Jose de Colinas, our put-out. Our adventure vehicle picks us up and carries us
back to San Pedro Sula or La Ceiba.

End of trip- Sorry. Joining us, driving back to La Ceiba you got the opportunity to enjoy your free night in our JUNGLE LODGE on the Cangrejal river in Pico Bonito National Park.
