JUNGLE TOURS

For the more intrepid explorers amongst you we offer a unique trip, exploring
the beauty and the solitude of the rainforest, swimming in fresh
water pools, and relaxing at the foot of the impressive 80-meter waterfall, El Bejuco.

For the rest, the plentitude of jungle tracks in close proximity to
THE OMEGA JUNGLE LODGE allows you to enjoy nature, safe in the
knowledge that home is not too far away.

CUERO Y SALADO

AN AWESOME wildlife refuge: bird watching and mangrove lagoon,
“burra” and boat ride, secluded tranquil beaches.

Starting from the OMEGA JUNGLE LODGE we drive to La Union,
20 km outside La Ceiba. Here we change our vehicle, to a
“burra”- a small, open-air railway cart. The ride takes
approx. 45 min. and goes through a coconut area, an
excellent place for bird watching. Bring your camera!

Reaching the Lagoon we hire a boat. A FUCSA -guide
(Fundacion Cuero Y Salado) takes us through the mangrove lagoon.

We can see all kinds of animals: birds, monkeys, ant eaters,
pizotes …, probably even a Manatee. After our boat trip we walk
to the beach (10 min.) to enjoy our fruity picnic and a swim in
the Caribbean.

We take our burra back to La Union and shuttle
you back to La Ceiba or enjoy your free jungle night in our LODGE.

Please bring: sun cream, insect repellent, sun hat. You do not need
special shoes! Got a camera and binoculars? Bring them!

JUNGLE HIKING EL BEJUCO WATERFALL

AN AMAZING hike through the rainforest: we jump into crystal
clear pools and take a shower under an 80m waterfall.

Join us in nature! This great trip starts from the OMEGA JUNGLE LODGE:
we hike down to the river, where you decide if you want to swim
across the river or do a 20 ft. cliff jump into a deep river pool.

We provide bags to keep our equipment dry. After a 20 min.
walk in the giant riverbed of the Rio Cangrejal we begin our
expedition into the jungle. The rainforest is breathtaking.
Reaching the bottom of El Bejuco waterfall we enjoy our
tropical picnic. On our way back we follow the Bejuco Creek

and jump into a crystal clear pool and take a shower - and a
therapeutic massage under the 30 ft. waterfall. Once we reach
the Cangrejal river we must cross again, this time in a shallower section.

We take our shoes off, hold hands and walk through the knee deep
river. 20 min. later we are back at the OMEGA JUNGLE LODGE.

Refresh in our pool, relax in a hammock - and enjoy your free! night, „out in the jungle“.

Please bring: Proper shoes, long trousers, insect repellant, swimsuit or shorts. Got your own daypack, water bottle? -bring it!
